As we perform the
social identity through multiplicities of images online, this series examines underpinning desires in identity creation.
These collaborative self-portraits provide
a space to consider our desires in self-representation by asking the
participant to imagine and create a portrait of themselves. Shot in black and
white on a large format camera, the series practices an historical method of
portraiture to encourage each subject to consider the photograph’s singularity. Within these boundaries, the project imagines the fictive-self through the camera.
